dnsmasq

What about dnsmasq? It is super simple to tell it to use a specific name server per domain, so you can do something like this in dnsmasq.conf and all your lan clients that point at dnsmasq will see the .bit domain. You would still need to build your own dns server for your domain... bind, nsd3, whatever.

server=/bit/78.47.86.43

server=/mydomain.bit/10.10.131.88
